Mr. Yishu Song, currently serving as an Assistant Instructor at Guangzhou City Construction College, holds a Master’s degree in engineering with a graduate specialization in mechanical engineering. His academic and research focus is on laser additive manufacturing of aluminum-based composite materials, with significant contributions to the development of titanium diboride reinforced aluminum-silicon composites. His recent research has advanced the understanding of how energy density modulation in laser-directed energy deposition improves the microstructure and mechanical performance of such composites, as demonstrated in an article published in the Journal of the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society in 2025. He has also contributed to leading Chinese journals, where his studies have highlighted the progress of selective laser melting in aluminum matrix composites. A key achievement of his work is the discovery of the dual distribution of titanium diboride particles during the stages of high-energy laser melting and rapid solidification, together with an explanation of the underlying mechanism. He has systematically analyzed how these processes affect the strength and properties of the composite materials.
